Why a one-second CPS test exists
People search “1 second click test” because they want a different number than the 5-second test. A one-second window captures peak motor rate: how many clean pointer-down events you can produce before fatigue, missed contacts, or a cramped finger show up. It is the burst number, and it is the one that shows up in Minecraft PvP arguments and in every “what is the highest CPS” thread.
Because the window is so short, small timing differences matter. The clock on this page starts on your first click, not on a countdown, so you are not spending 200 ms of the second reacting to a go signal. You get the whole second to click. Live CPS during a 1-second run is noisy — treat the final number as the result, not the bouncing live readout.
What is a good 1-second CPS?
Most people with a standard mouse land between 7 and 10 CPS in one second. 11–13 is a strong standard-click burst. 14+ usually means jitter, butterfly, or drag clicking. Compare 1-second scores only to other 1-second scores; they run hotter than 5-second averages by one to three clicks.
If your 1-second score and your 5-second score are almost identical, you have unusual stamina (or a low burst). If they diverge by four or more CPS, you have a burst that you cannot hold — which is normal. Train the one that matches the game you actually play.
