Not the nine planets worksheet
Most “space word search” printables are a solar-system roll call. This list mixes a few planets (VENUS, SATURN, PLUTO — we are not interested in the IAU fight) with words you actually meet in headlines: QUASAR, NEBULA, ASTEROID, ROCKET. ORBIT and LUNAR are the short ones that hide in other words. GALAXY is a gift; it has a G-A-L that pops.
The generator does not care about astronomy. It cares about packing twelve strings. If you want science more broadly — atom, neuron, photon — use the science theme. If you want ocean instead of vacuum, there is an ocean list. This page exists because “space word search” is a real query and the mixed hub should not be the only answer to it.
What people miss
QUASAR and ASTEROID, almost always. They are long, so they often land on a diagonal. Scan the long leftovers last. PLUTO is four-to-five and will fake you with P-L in PLUTO vs. leftover noise. A four-minute clear is typical. There is no reading comprehension; if you can spell SATURN you can finish.
FAQ
Are all the planets here?
No. A few planets plus orbital vocabulary. A full nine-planet list is a different (and dated) worksheet.
Is Pluto on the list?
Yes. Five letters, easy to hide, and people still search for it.
Does this teach astronomy?
It teaches you to find the strings. The science theme is closer to a classroom list.
